How to get a personal license?

A few days ago, I first downloaded Unity Hub, but after looking through the Unity website further, I found the LTS Unity version, so I downloaded the download helper.

I then installed the LTS version using the helper, and upon running it got an error stating I don’t have a license. After some further searching, I decided it was necessary to install the Hub, which I did. I was not able to figure out how to create my account.

After logging into my account, I suspected that I needed to “Add Seats”, which I did by clicking the link in “Please click here to subscribe”. This took me to the “Plans and pricing” where I chose “Individual”.
Since I need a “Personal” license, I clicked the “Get started” button, but to my dismay, I was taken to a page I had already been to some time ago which explains the Unity Ecosystem and provides download links, but does not offer any obvious way to acquire a Personal License.

I tried this in three different browsers (I DO NOT LIKE COOKIELAW as I do not want all my cookies consolidated with one entity) to make sure I wasn’t experiencing some unexpected browser behaviour.

Where do I get the personal license?

Isn’t a personal license just the default license you get when making a Unity account?

Such as, if you go into your UnityID page’s Settings, there’s a section for ‘My Seats’ which should just have a Personal license.

In any case, you should contact customer support rather than ask the forums.

Thanks spiney199, and you are right.

What happened here is that I’m on MacOS but I don’t use Safari as my default browser. So, when I was logging in, I wasn’t able to do it within the Unity Hub UI, thus breaking the Unity Hub process.

Now that I changed back to Safari (but only temporarily), I can see the Personal License inside the the Unity Hub UI.

I hope that Unity does not require me to make Safari my default browser whenever I wish to use Unity.
