How to get a reference to a game object that's disabled on awake?

I have a game object called Target UI that I set inactive in Editor mode. What do I do to get a reference to Target UI in Awake() so I can set it active again?

Add a property field first to store the game object.
Attach the Target UI game object to the script inside the inspector.
Then set it to active inside awake
