Thanks for the Unity Editor team! Now we can easily download a use silicon Unity Editor. But Unity HUB is still base on Intel:(
Is that possible to get a native Apple Silicon Unity HUB? or make Unity HUB as a open source project so we can build ourself.
+1 for this, Unity HUB is the only application that is still on intel. Please make it native Apple Silicon.
it’s okay
I have successfully verified the Unity silicone installation
unity hub is here only as version and license manager
if you need help installing silicone Unity - please contact
Unity Hub is still on Intel I’ve verified it right now on a Macbook Air with M2.
Keep on dreaming … Keep on dreaming …
Hope Unity 6 will bring a native apple silicon HUB:(
Looks like Unity Hub is still in Intel format. Ironic how Unity was highlighted in Apple Arcade events and Unity Hub itself does not have a M-chips version!
Such a shame. At this point, if you care about performance / resource usage and are OK with a less convenient approach, you could handle license activation via CLI (see Manage your license through the command line) and use any of the available Hub replacemets (such as Unity Hub Native) or create your own.
It’s been years that I’ve tried to like the Hub, but it’s becoming harder every day. The templates would have been nice if I could easily create custom ones for myself, or even share them with the community (import/export fashion to keep things simple) - but the feature is gatekept and IIRC relies on internet connection to fetch the samples from an online database. I see it’s planned on the roadmap. But it was since 2021 so hopes are low really… ARM64 support is not even there, so I don’t think it’s happening, unless Apple decides at some point to completely drop Rosetta support - but I’m guessing it’s going to take years for that.
I personally don’t need the Learn and Community sections, all of those resources I could access directly through the site. What I truly need is a FAST way to open Unity with certain parameters, and the convenience to pick project and see which version each project is on. That’s all. But that doesn’t feel like the core focus of the Hub these days.
Bit of a joke now really. Only thing I can think is they have some tool running in the Electron bundle that is Intel only. Take 5 seconds for the Hub team to jump on here and explain why it isn’t a Universal build and we may live with it. But in 2024 the launch speed of Unity Hub is laughable. Please just suck it up and re-write the thing in .NET MAUI or something and give us a native speedy alternative! Could just build it in Unity!
2025 here, nothing … Don’t expect ANY kind or form of consideration for Mac Users. They just give a.
I’ve asked support. No f given.
Period.
yeah, they are teaching us how to spell the word ARROGANT : <
Unity hub team is the most laziest team there is, unity engine is silicone native that relies on thousand of libraries while little hub tra*h needs intel procedures, oh come on, x86? for real? 1970 architecture
