How to get the Lightning as good as UE4

Hi,

I want to know how to get the lightning as good as UE4.
I am trying to make a game like PT/Allison road where you are inside a house. The problem is that the lightning is not perfect and I’ve been trying to find a tutorial on Lightning and Archiviz in unity and I can’t find any, unfortunately. I can find tutorials on the same subject if I, instead of typing Unity 5, type Unreal Engine.
I know Unity 5 is not meant for Archiviz but I’ve seen a couple of people doing it and would like to know how to do it.

(Anyway, I love Unity 5. It’s easy… But if I don’t find what I need to make a AAA quality scene with good lightning I will probably move to UE4. I managed to get good lightning in UE 4 for just under 20 minutes (Still a begginer in that engine). I am getting frustrated. If Unity had the same graphics quality (without buying any extra plugins) as UE4, many people would move to Unity and even buy the full version of it.)

Hope you can help me… Thanks.

Define “good lighting”.

Are you intentionally saying “lightning” or do you mean “lighting”?

Unreal Engine 4 has used images effects as default in scene view. You need to first setup a good AAA image effects on your camera and then start light mapping. Especially HDR Tonemapping . If you need more help,Ask me…

Stardog: I mean “realistic” lighting.
SteveJ: I mean lighting. I’m not an english speaker (?) and I didn’t knew how to spell that. Sorry.

aliyeredon2: Oh I get it… (Thanks for your answer by the way!)
That Unity Scene thing looks pretty identic to Unreal one. I might actually need some help…

Thanks for replying!! Can you help me with it? I’ve been trying to find good tutorials and I can’t find them…

For beautiful lighting, You need to manipulate the following:
Unity 5.4 + (to activate image effects on scene view)
Standard shader
Cinematic image effects
Amplify Color (LUT) $

To begin, i need a sample scene. please send me your desired scene to show you how to manipulate these settings.

I have Unity 5.3.5 but I can download Unity 5.5.
Also do you want the project files?

You need 5.4 +
Yes i need a sample scene. Lighting setup is different for different scenes.
I already had some training about IBL lighting + PBR shading. Let me a moment to find them.

I am installing Unity. I will give you the project files in 1 sec. Also, I’m trying to make a archviz night scene inside a house. Do you think you’ll be able to help me? Thanks

I’m sorry about horror games . I do not like horror genre. I only play fps and racing games.
and I only can show you how to setup lighting effects and shaders. you can use these setups on every scene.

Yeah that’s fine. What I was trying to say is if, instead of creating a day light, creating a night lighting setup. If you don’t know how to do it it’s fine because I can try to do it by myself when you kinda “teach” me how to do proper lighting.

It’s creating the project… It takes some time sorry…

I recorded a video for you. It’s about night lighting + Image effects setup + lens flare setup.
You can use these setups on real room scene and use better lens flare and textures (+ normal map) to achieve a good result.
And now i want to say goodbye. I doesn’t have more time, I’m sorry.

I’m not sure about moving to UE4. Maybe I’ll just see what I can do… anyway Thanks for Making a video dedicated to lighting in Unity. I’ll check it out! Thanks for the help once again

Unreal Engine’s lighting setup is pre made by Epic Games (AAA Game company). Unity is similar to Maya. Starting with an empty scene and finally reach to where you can.
