How to give tap event to just specific model

In my game, I have a 3d model and some gui buttons.The problem I am facing is whenever I click on the GUI buttons the tap event which I had specified to 3d model is also triggering.I have attached a separate script to the 3d model.

I have

Input.GetMouseButton(0)

for giving tap event.

I am a newbie in unity.Any help will be greatful.

For GUI elements you can check against GUIUtility.hotControl before accepting a tap.
