How to import a png landscape

I am sorry if this has been asked but on google the most recent one I found was from 2012. I am coming from unreal. I know there is a huge debate about which is better but I am a c# fan so that has veered me here. But my terrain from unreal or the one I used inside of unreal is a png file. I can not find anything about how to import png landscape into Unity.

Being a programmer this feels more out of my area. though I am sure it should be in my area lol but thank you for anyone who can help.

Unity does not support hightmap data imported as png files.
Unity uses raw image data.
You should be able to use GIMP (or Photoshop if you have it) to save out your PNG as a raw file and then import it into unity.
I found this tutorial for gimp (import and export of the raw file)
