I have mesh nodes with some FBX meshes loaded into them which have vertex colors, but how do I import them/see them on the model so I can later export them with the rest of the tree?
Yes, compute is turned on under Tree Vertex Color. Under Mesh Vertex Color settings there are only either Set or Offset from parent settings which seem to just override the colors.
It’s currently not possible to import a model with vertex colors back into SpeedTree and view them the Tree Window, but we’ve had our eye on that as a feature. I’ll bump that with the team.
Ok, I see, I will try to find a workaround. It’s just that in the old manual ( vertex_colors [SpeedTree Documentation] ) it said that “Mesh assets that are imported from “.FBX” files will retain vertex colors if they are present in the model. These colors can be added to or used to replace the procedurally-computed vertex colors.” But it didn’t specify the procedure, so that is why I wondered if it is possible.
