I have modeled a simple forklift using blender and I want to put it in my game to be used by the player. However I was curious, would it be better to animate the forklift moving up and down, or would it be better to use rigidbodies and scripts to make it move, or does anyone have a better idea than anything I listed? I use C#.
Depends very much on what you’re trying to do with it, but if it were me I would build the truck and the fork separately, then attach them together in unity with joints that you can control from script.
I suggest that over simple animations because I suspect you’ll want to lift things with the fork in your game, so having it interact properly with the physics engine is probably the way to go.
