I was wondering how exactly one might make a create your own character function for their game? Any tips? I’ve done a lot of research and still can’t find any info so any replies will be much appreciated. I figured that unity would have to somehow be able to edit variables from something like Adobe Fuse, variables like character height, width. Then you would have to have separate meshes for the different hairstyles, hats, etc… but I still don’t know exactly how I would do that…
There is a ton of ways to do this depending if your game is 2d, 3d or Zero D aká text based adventures
I would suggest that you make a 3d model in 3dsmax and then make morph targets that you export and import into Unit. You make a standard version , then a low, then a high version of the standard, then you make a fat and a thin. you can then specify how much of each morph target should be applied to the final realtime rendered model .
Making such a system and making it work well is a huge effort so you might want to see if there is someone seling sometihng you can use on the assetstore.
