How to make a hinge joint less wobbly/ more rigid

I’m using a hinge joint to make an object rotate freely around the local Y axis (kinda like a swing) however It gives in a bit on the X and Z axis whenever something hits it from the side.

Is there a way I can make my hinge joint not give in on the other axis?

You can change some settings on the rigidbody of the rotating object.

Most important is the section at the bottom called Constraints. It will let you Freeze Position and/or Freeze Rotation on any axis of your choosing.

Also, take a look at Angular Drag. This will give the rotation less momentum. You can even set this value to “Infinity” (without quotes).

In Editor, Hinge Joint → Use Spring = true; Spring/Damper/Target Position = 0.
