I am making a Multiplayer FPS where the character needs to have a weapon and such. I am using a mesh and animations from Mixamo. I want to separate the arms from the rest of the body and have the player camera not render the body but just the arms so I put it in blender and separated them. But this makes the animations stop working because it is all not one mesh. How do I keep the animations but have the mesh split into different parts?
Hi I was able to achieve this by using a skinned mesh renderer and then in blender separating the mesh through edit mode making sure it stayed connected to the bone armature (I used Seperate > Selection) and then exporting as an fbx, however I am not sure if this will work in that case.
