How to make our game so we can use an Xbox controller to play it?

The Unity guy on my course says it’s the next best thing to getting an Xbox Developer license.

We’re almost done working on our Boulder Dash game you see! Just got to add sounds and some more levels.

Just plug it in. The controllers are plug and play, so drivers will be installed automatically. You can google Unity XBox controller to find how to configure each Input Axis.

For multiple controller support you are going to want something like rewired.

The following video is one of the first results from YouTube that doesn’t have obnoxious music in the background. :stuck_out_tongue:

Seconded! Rewired is an awesome replacement for the horrid input system built into Unity.

Here here! I’ve tried a few assets for input, and rewired blows them all out of the water.

If you just need to support one controller, then it’s fine to write your own solution though, and you won’t have to take the time to learn a new tool. (rewired can be complex at the beginning)
