How to make particles go to a single location?

Hi,

For an effect, I need to particles go to a single position, how can I do that?

imagine that shape of your emitter is sphere and particles are emitting all over it but after half a second, they all move toward a single position in space, like that position is devouring the particles or have some kind of gravity over them.

Thanks.

If you look up “unity move particles to center” you can find how to do that with the Legacy system (which works just great.) It’s really just having them spawn from the Sphere shell, giving them a negative speed (so they move inwards,) and setting them to die in the time it takes to reach the center. In the old system, you have to use Tangent Velocity. The new one has that built in.

That has them meet in the center. Can set VelocityOverLifetime (or Force) to pull the meeting point away. Also works with a cone or hemisphere.

Thanks Owen, but I don't want them to travel to center of the sphere. I want them to travel to like 3 meters away from the sphere. Imagine in God of War or similar games, when you are near some orbs, they are gravitated towards the player. The effect I want to achieve is to show player got some coins, so I want to emit a lot of coins and then they move from one location to another location that represents player's coins chest.

2nd paragraph, 2nd and 3rd sentence. I blame Twitter. If you want them to move to a point on the GUI (the little "Gold:58" label) particle systems aren't so good, since they like to move things in the world. Might try some of the GUI add-ons.

Thanks. Any suggestions on GUI add-on's that do this? I'm actually using 2D Toolkit and I don't think involving another GUI package be a good idea, especially when you are near the release.
