Hi guys, was wanting to make a system where the sprite will glow slightly when getting hit, similar to like how Cuphead is doing it. Can anyone teach me how? Thanks!
I have no idea about that but you could try this:
-
add a light that has “draw halo” ticked,
-
add a flare to the light so that the halo effect can be smaller and more concentrated,
-
disable the light,
-
enable the light via script each time the sprite gets hit.
You’ll need to add a material to your sprite though, if you don’t have normal maps for it, otherwise the halo will not show.
