How to make the particle emit bursts?

I could do it by scripting but i want to do it right on the particle emitter componente.
I want to emit particles for 0.1sec, wait 3secs, than emit again and so go.
Can i do it on the inspector or only by scripting?

Consider using the ParticleSystem component. ParticleEmitter will disappear from Unity soon.
