I’m planning to start work on a game which will include a lot of film footage. These are professionally shot, live action clips, and so needs to be displayed in the best possible way without losing quality.
If I were to make use of MovieTextures what methods would people suggest I use to get my footage looking good without loads of compression artifacts. I assume it would be best to create a kind of video player class that existed as part of the GUI.
Or might it actually be better to get Unity to run an external program like VLC etc when I want to play a movie?
Or do people have other suggestions or similar experiences they can talk about?
