How to recover lost scene.

I still have all the scripts and stuff for that scene, also just that scene got corrupted. The menu scene is fine.
How can I recover it? What to avoid doing so this doesen’t happen again?

In the future use version control, such as git, so if anything happens you can just revert your project to a working version.

Can’t i just save a backup? How can i save a backup easily? Everything i saw about backups involves online stuff and things. I just want to save the project as a backup separately.
