How To Replace the Animations With New Fbx

Hi All

In My Project the Character Fbx Contains 40 MB. Every File Depends on the Character Fbx File. So I have try

to reduce the Character Fbx into 8 Mb. For reducing the file size in ipa File.

Remaining 32 Mb File will be downloaded from assetbundle.

I am new bie to this. Suppose if i splited into two fbx will it replaced and worked properly.

So any one can give me good help on this.

my ultimate aim is to reduce the file size.

thanks in advance

If it is a humanoid rig animation you can remove the mesh from the fbx and only include the animated bones. Should reduce the file size considerably.

Could remove the mesh for generic rig as well but Im not familiar with that process to reassign the animation back onto a generic rig.

Thanks theAnmator2b for your Post. I am not using Humanoid rig . i am using maya and export into unity. I need help on that …

LOL - and once it gets into Unity there are 3 optional rig settings you have to choose from, generic, humanoid and legacy. Refer to above for humanoid. Refer to above and additional info for generic. Refer to documentation for legacy.

From reading - most have attempted to split animations into different fbx files only to realize the two files are larger than the one combined. However there are numerous variables for this to be correct.
Removing the mesh is an economical method for reducing fbx file size.
