How to Roll-a-Ball from unity tutorial?

Beginner Roll-a-Ball,Chaper 1, part 3

I followed the video instructor step-by-step, I finished writing the scripts and ready to test the “ball” to get it to roll in the “play” mode, but I can’t get the ball to move at all. I have no “errors” it says.

I saw some comments about maybe I need to “attach” my script to my “playerobject” which is the ball in this case… Does it automatically attach itself or do I have to do this myself? If so, how?

Please help, much appreciated!

You know, I took that tutorial, and I didn’t really like how they wanted you to code in the player movement. You may just like it fine that way, but I had errors with that code setup too. This is the method I used:

public class PlayerScript : MonoBehaviour {

private Transform player;
public float playerSpeed;
//you set this equal to a value in the inspector

void Start () {
player = transform;

}
void Update () {
player.Translate(Vector3.up * playerSpeed * Input.GetAxis("Vertical") * Time.deltaTime);
player.Translate(Vector3.right * playerSpeed * Input.GetAxis("Horizontal") * Time.deltaTime);


}

Now you can try something like that and see if it works. If you’re still getting errors, post back and we’ll try to help.
