How to set an origin point these days?

Returning user here.

So it used to be that the parent would just keep it’s position and so would naturally act as the origin point for all it’s children. But now it seems no matter what I do the origin point for the parent object is automatically set to the averaged center of all its children. Don’t get me wrong, that was a much needed feature and i’m glad they added that, but how do I manually set it now? Im only finding outdated info on the old system, cant figure it out for the latest version.

I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. What averaged position? A GameObject has a position and that doesn’t change if you don’t change something. What do you mean? I have never heard of any new system and I don’t really understand what’s happening on your end.

Check your scene tool handle position is set to ‘pivot’ and not ‘centre’.

Yes! That’s it! Works perfectly and diggin the options. thanks man!
