I’m having a problem with baking the light in a scene, I setup the scene to how I think it’s going to look then when its baked the result it very dark.
I’ve attached pictures of before and after the bake and the light and global settings.
Yeah, so Ambient light when baked (either by precompute or actual baked), acts like skylight, so in a closed interior scene like yours, no light would come in. So try setting up your scene without it.
It’s not just the inside, if I make Ambient Light black (turn off) all the scene, inc outside looks black and in the scene you can go outside onto platforms joining rooms then it all looks very dark unless I add lots of lights.
Just baking again with Ambient Light black and extra internal lights.
So leave it on, just think of it as light that comes from all around but actually gets occluded and keep that in mind when setting up the interior lighting.
Thanks for the input, much appreciated, just a bit of a pain to have to turn Ambient light black to setup interiors then remember to turn back on to setup exteriors …
