how to take maya animation file in to unity?

I have a clip for a character in maya that i wanted to use character animations like jump run etc in Unity , SO basically i wanted to know how to link those animations with the character in unity.

Also please provide me any website to learn basics of unity and games creation like mario etc.

thanks for this help kiloblargh now i want to know how can we add this clip with keyboard ctrl like if we press space bar jump should done.

if i use a maya can i make a animationclip in maya and take this unity.if u have any video or tutorial pls give me i want to learn from basic how to take maya animation in unity.

i m using maya 8.5 so pls any one can tell me what i have to set when i want to export animation in fbx file or importing in unity 3d? or it is possible in maya 8.5??? soon i need this ans......if any one know this pls reply..

i m using os window xp but i dont know how can we open to two unity project at the same time.pls help me its give me error while opening another unity.
