How works Unity Terrain Painting

Hi all ^^

Firstly i’m a french developer and I’m apologyze for my bad english.
I would like to know what is the paint technique of land system in Unity ? It’s Vertex Painting or another ? How i can do the same thing in scripting ?

It is heightmap based. Search for Terrain and TerrainData in the scripting forum and docs.

The painting is splat map based actually (or texture alpha splatting), with this splatmap being used for realtime mixing the up to 4 related textures you painted with.

The ground height etc though as pakfront points out is heightmap based.
