I want to try replicating a lost Facebook game by the name of Happy Pets. It was a flash style pet care and breeding game, there were multiple rooms for your pets and they roamed freely about, there were many styles of pets, with adorable animations for eating, sleeping, jumping and running around as well as being pet or played with. I know it’s a big project, but I am willing to learn whatever I need to to recreate this nostalgic experience. I just don’t know where to even begin!
Thats a 2D/low-poly based game (like a mobile game). URP (LTS) version of Unity is recommended. That should give you a starting point. Facebook used Flash based browser games for many years, but Unity is capable of creating much more/better.
Just a “heads up”, decide on a version of Unity and NEVER upgrade/update it for the life of the project. You dont want that headache, lol.
The starting point is always to just start learning Unity in general. If you’ve not made a game before, you’ll quickly realise you’re in over your head trying to make your dream game.
