Hey guys I’ve been thinking recently, as I’m sure most people do, about how game copyright works. I wouldn’t want anything I do to come across as a total copy of something, how could it if say the below ideas I have were done?
Say I was to make a endless running game like “Temple Run”. I could have a ninja as the character however (I know someone else on unity is doing this, but this is just an example) and the obstacles are fairly similar to those of “Temple Run” except they are just changed up a bit in colour, etc.
It’s irrelevant how people here define copyright. What matters is how the developer of Temple Run’s attorney defines copyright. Here’s a little tip though. If the first sentence of your game description includes the line “like Temple Run” and you’ve just posted it on a public forum, I’d say you’ve just made an attorney somewhere break out in a cold sweat.
Thanks, but what do you mean by this line.
Anyway that was just an example, I’m guessing you mean I wouldn’t need to put that in the description of the game, because it’d already be here, but please explain further if I’m wrong.
