Huge first frame spike in builds on single computer

Hi all,

I’m having an issue on my development laptop where the first frame can take in excess of 20 seconds to process, then the application runs perfectly smoothly. I have even tried it in an empty scene and get the same issue.

I’m on a Macbook Pro running OSX, but another computer running OSX doesn’t have any issue. The editor also runs fine from the start, with no big spike.

I’ve tried clearing the application’s preferences in ~/Library/Preferences, but that hasn’t had any effect.

Hoping someone can help me solve the issue?

I just made a completely blank project (with a tiny script to show the FPS) and had the exact same result. So it’s certainly seeming like a computer issue. However I have no idea how to fix it.
