HumanIK solution

Hey guys,

Has anyone found a way to implement a HumanIK type solution?

Anyone know if this is planned feature for the Unity team?

Cheers :)

hi,

I think the locomotion extension will give you what you want:

Bye,

Thanks Jean, we started out with the lococmotion system but it isn't really what we're after I'm afraid. I just kinda figured that as Unity is integrating some autodesk stuff (eg Beast) maybe they may be considering HumanIK too...

Maybe you could comment on what exactly is not suitable, they sure ( I hope at least) keep an eye on UA content, and they may cook something, so if you make it clear what you are after, it can be beneficial.

HumanIK is the system used in Assassins Creed II and I think Fight Night (and is incorporated into U3). It does procedural animation in a similar vain of the locomotion system however its far more flexible. For our particular application we'd be looking to do IK on hands as a character vaults or climbs - eg places his hand onto obstacles of varying heights. Their are of course other ways around this but human IK is an elegent solution - for instance you can procedurally alter a reaction animation depending on where the character was hit.

@demize2010 : I just did it. It's quite tricky but at the end it worked. Did you eventually set it up?

Well, Unity4's Mechanim animation system was made by the guys behind HumanIK, so....
