Humanoid Avatar muscle rig backwards

Hello all,

I’ve imported my model and have configured the Humanoid Avatar, the mapping is perfect but as soon as I go to the muscles tab the model drops down in the view and the bones are all backwards. Moving the arms does nothing as if they aren’t connected. What’s gone wrong?

Could it be the bones not being setup in the model properly?, it seems that Unity is adding in some hip bones to the model (its from a very old game). Any insight would be helpful, programmer here, not a modeller.
