Hi all,

Is anyone aware of which programs support the editing behaviors depicted by the 2D animation below?

Is this something that could be done in photoshop?

I’d love to know what program that is! Photoshop has an animation toolset. Classic time & tweening. But I haven’t explored it much further. Editing the animation and having changes made on one frame to the next in real time. Don’t think Photoshop has come that far yet.

Krita added some animation tools not too long ago. Maybe the was created with it?

Just looking at Krita now, it looks like fun. The original image seems like an embarrassingly simple idea but it’s so powerful. Like creating pottery with a turntable. If anyone has ideas, please let us hear them!

Sure can. If you watch the Unite 2016 keynote, they’re working on a new tool for sprites too. I think it’s a separate tool that you will have to install for the asset store when it’s ready. Atm it’s a public beta, but I could be wrong.

Confirmed that that is the new image/sprite editor in GameMaker Studio 2. I know that Cosmigo Pro Motion can do animated brushes and I think it can draw while animating. Another popular spriting software called GraphicsGale it seems like I remember it having a similar feature, but I’m not totally sure on that one.
