I Can't Lower the Terrain in Unity 4

Hi,

Its been a long time since I’ve installed unity, so a few things have changed… I’ve got my head around most but I can not seem to be able to hold shit to lower my terrain?

Here is an image of how its set-up

Could some one tell me what values I should change?

Terrain has a min/max height you can paint onto it. You have to move the terrain object physically to get it higher/lower.

So I’ve just selected my Terrain and changed its Transform Position from Y=0 to Y=30 and yet I still cant pain down/lower?

Hi Tom

Select your terrain, and go to the second tab (paint height). If you have an up to date version of unity, there should be a “height” box with a numerical value in it. You can add a value to that box, and click “flatten”, which will raise the terrain, allowing you to lower certain parts. Be warned however, this will flatten the terrain. There may be another way around the issue, but none that i know of.

Hope this helps.

You sir are a gem!!!

This worked… thanks for that, it just threw me off as things have changed since I last had a play around.
