[Warning: I’m very new to this, please don’t destroy me with overcomplication of things I already don’t understand]
I am creating something that I’m calling the “John Masong Soundboard.” Now, when I launch Unity, the words “John Masong Soundboard” come up and the associated filepath says “H:\Jarius\Unity\John Masong Soundboard”. That would make sense - all the folders and files for the project are in that directory, but every time I click on it, the Unity interface disappears and nothing happens. The first time I did it, I had to wait a bit before anything happened, but now I’ve been waiting almost 4 times as long and nothing has happened yet. Nothing seems to be going on in the task manager. I’d really like to get back into the project I started yesterday, but I can’t because of whatever’s going on.
Do you remember the last edit you made? Sounds like Unity is having difficulty loading something in the project. I’d systematically try removing files in your project in the reverse order that you think you added or edited them (after making a backup of the project first, of course!).
Sounds like it might be the same thing I get sometimes. Like you, I click on the project I want to open, but Unity disappears and no sign of it in the task manager. I just restart Unity. Then it remembers the project I wanted to open, so it doesn’t prompt me to choose, and it also remembers to load the project in the first place…
No idea why but started happening in the 5.x cycle at some point.
Well, I’m having the same problem, but the editor doesn’t seem to remember what I was trying to open when it restarts. I’d be most thankfull if someone would tell me how to fix it
