I have a question, Imac or pc + mini for IOS

Hello there,I’m a Beginner Game Designer, and i need a new Computer to work on Unity and Blender, i will like to target Steam Green Light PC, mac, Ios.

The problem that i have is that i don’t have that much money to spend at the moment. I have $2000 to spend on a PC or Imac, if i get the Imac, it will be a 27 inch, i5 3.2ghz 8gb dd3, 1 tb HDD, GTX755M 2GB nvidia. Then i will do Windows 8 boot camp to publish in both platforms.

or i can get a more powerful Custom built PC, with an I7 and a gtx780 and 16 gb memory DD3 Solid state hard drive and 2 Monitors. but i will not have the option for Boot Camp.

my question is this, does the Imac 27 inch with 8 gb memory and gtx755m will be enough for unity and blender and rendering?

or i need a more powerful set up like the pc i can build, then later on i can buy a Imac or a macbook pro.

The iMac is more than enough power. That’s the route that I’d take.

can i set up 2 monitors with the imac?

Yep - you can run another external monitor.

Given that you’re planning on doing iOS, it just makes more sense to go Mac if you can and get the “all in one” result.

I’ve been using a Mac Mini for about 5 months now… And I miss my PC so much that I’m gonna get back to it and use Mac only to publish for iOS… For my experience the OS X is a pain in the ass… The only good thing on OS X is Spaces, but you can have a better and free version on Windows too: Switcher.

If money is an issue I’d say go for a pc, you’ll get more power for your money, but I think you’ll have to give up iOs. Anyway an iMac is enough power as well
