I install, and run on mac, only to get a black window!

I have tried installing previous versions too. Every time, I get a black, blank window.
In the menu bar, under file: everything is grayed, except “save scene”, and “close”.
I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10
Help please!

I got an update for Yosemite. Solved the problem!
