I am very new to Unity, and I’m trying to export as FBX some assets I got from one of my friends. I installed the plugin (or package) and tried to select one of the models. But I can’t seem to find the Export to FBX button.

Hello! which version of Unity and of the FBX Exporter package are you using?
If you select the asset to export in the scene hierarchy, and right click on it to get the context menu, you should see these options to export the FBX:
Alternatively, you can also find the option in the top menu from GameObject > Export To FBX...
If the menu options are not showing up, something probably went wrong when installing. Do you see any error messages being printed?
I was facing the same issue. Removing and installing back the packages fixed it for me
