Hey there,
I’m trying to get a fire particle to spread throughout a house and I would like to know how best to approach this.
I also have a fire extinguisher that has a particle effect attached and sound that I want to be triggered by a vive trigger press and take out each instance of randomly spawned fire.
Ive also made a particle system for the fire and have Steam VR installed.
I have the house modelled - just need some assistance to make this happen.
can anyone help me with this? I’m new to unity.
It’s a tricky task. You’ll need not one but a whole bunch of particle systems to represent the spreading fire. Or, you could eschew standard particle systems and make your own based on dynamic mesh creation… but that’s going to be rather difficult for a beginner.
You will probably also need some way to keep track of where the flammable surfaces are (and maybe how flammable they are). Perhaps a lower-resolution mesh which you could also use for collision detection with the hose particles.
Hey,
I know that I’m late, but anyone wondering how to do this: I have released an asset that does just this: Ignis - Interactive Fire - URP/HDRP | Particles/Effects | Unity Asset Store. I hope this helps with your journey
