I made a game in an hour with only modeling knowledge :)

Someone posted a fake video on youtube claiming it to be GTA5 obviously it wasnt but i opened my mouth and said i could do the same thing but make it playable seeing his was some random van going up a here that was rendered and rigged in max. So i grabbed some assets. Made some hills. Made a few models and bam i had my GTA5… sorta.

With this said

the fun i had doing this was intense. Other my over use with effects what should i do to improve this. I want to make a detailed level and post it. Anything different i should try. City? Boondocks, Valley or the desserts. Other than a race to point A and B is there something more interesting you can do with a car?

Here’s a clip

Awesome! How did you do the car damage? Piece the model together or did you use a vertex modification script?

As for some fun, you could do a crash mode similar to the Burnout series. My favorite mode is from Burnout 2: Point of Impact. I use the second game in the series, because the crashes aren’t “overdone” or as over the top as Burnout 3 and the later. The courses are set up as normal places and don’t have “crash ramps” to get air born to jump into traffic etc. Its a more “realistic” crash mode in Burnout 2.

Crash mode in Burnout is the most fun I have ever had with cars in a video game.

First to make it better, try reducing bloom or removing it. Too much is there. Also, don’t use Unity’s default terrain and vegetation system, the grass is too big and would be nicer bill boarded if it was small.

RPGking - Yeah i was going to adjust the car to the grass size but i was throwing this together in hopes to show people how easily something like this can be done using Unity. About the bloom lol i get way to excited with that stuff. Once i finish a real map level I will take a photo or video and hopefully someone can help me with all those adjustments.

Makerofgames- The car physics i got from the asset store. It was $50 but worth the fun you have messing around with it. And that sounds like a good idea! I’ll see what i can stir up. Im planning on making a full level. Sadly it will take me at least 2 or 3 days. I’ve been modeling and doing textures since i was 14 lol im 25 now so im pretty fast. But i want to get very detail and add a more realistic car.
