just some super simple work, I am a programmer not really an animator. I paid a guy to create a model for me, rigging was supposed to be a part of the deal, but he gave me the model and went radio silent and left me with the bag and I can’t use the model now. I would love a simple rig to be put on it so I can attach the animations I bought in the store to it.
Hi,
I’m Joe… did you get anyone to help you with this yet? I might be able to help if its a simple human rig
Hi! I’m Mieko and I would like to complete the unfinished model. Can I have your attention to discuss about it?
If it is humanoid, you can automatically rig it with mixamo.
Rigging isn’t too complicated, you can learn in under an hour, if you still don’t find any help.
Since you want it matched to an animation kit you bought, the skeleton will need to match the animations that you have. What kit are you going to be using? Mixamo and UMA use different skeletons. Truebones uses different skeletons also - though I think his more closely match UMA if I recall correctly. Matching animations can be hard if the skeletons don’t match. Also, rigging is NOT easy. It’s annoying and tedious. Please don’t assume that because it is common and required that it is quick and easy. I can make a model start to finish, and rigging is by far the most annoying part. One little vertex weighted wrong and the whole animation gets ruined. Please appreciate your 3D artists. And whoever you hire, make sure they have access to the skeleton you are going to be using. Looks like you have some people already willing to give it a shot.
good rigs take lots of experience and time - no way one can learn that in an hour. You want good weights, controls, master controls… And for all of that your mesh needs good topology in the first place.
Well, apologizes, 3D graphics creating isn’t my domain and I don’t have much experience in that.
From my personal experience, I have been able to create and rig a model in blender with relative ease within a day. It wasn’t complicated and I followed a few half hour tutorials.
But no disagreements, this isn’t something that can be easily mastered or learned too easily to rig up just any model. I may be fairly ignorant here, since I worked on relatively simple stuff, with only a few hours of experience, and I don’t mean to be disrespectful.
