I seem to have broken my ability to edit lights - Does this look familiar to anyone?

Hey all,

So when I select a light, this is all I get within the inspector. I can’t even change the type of light.

I am at a total loss. I installed the Alloy Shaders a few days ago, and changed the requisite project settings. However, I have since reverted those changes, as it turns we are not going to use Alloy.

Any advice would be great appreciated.

That is strange, I would say maybe that asset jacked something up, I personally would backup my project then do assets → reimport all and rebuild everything. Worth a shot.

Hi Xype - Thank you for your reply. I think you are on target. I’ve deleted my Library and Unity is currently rebuilding. Finger crossed!

No Joy. Library deleted and rebuilt to no avail. Still can’t edit lights.

could be some editor plugin…anything suspicious in editor/ folders?

Hi mgear, thank you for your help. I looked and didn’t see anything off. That said, I am pretty new to Unity.

I’m thinking about uninstalling/reinstalling Unity and then syncing again.

Welp after following my suggestions earlier, you backed up your files already, so great time to grab a patch update for unity while you are at it, you might just hit a quirky bug that hopefully they already fixed!

They make those bloody things hard to find, they need to move the patch links up top instead of hiding in the footer imo

Huzzah!

Well, I had a lot of “non-versioned” cruft in my build directory. Likely something that flipped a switch somewhere while I was field testing some SSS shaders. Deleted it all and POW, I’ve got my editable lights back.

A little embarrassing, but lesson learned.

Well if it helps any I havn’t had any issues out of Uber.
