I seriously SERIOUSLY recommend this tool!

Paintstorm Studio!

Hey there, I just got this neat painting program, and while I’m only scratching the surface but… I can tell it’s very useful. The parameters list to customize your brush is enormous! It’s only 20 bux, didn’t even think about it.

Figured some of you would want to know about it.

And you might even like it even if you’re not into painting. Has some neat brushes by default. Check this baby, was done with only one brush, delicious grass patch:

Cool huh?

Oh, and the link for more info: http://www.paintstormstudio.com/

This looks cool. I will check it out.

Looks quite cool, but I’ll stick with Krita.

Same here, I’ll stick with Krita.

Krita looks interesting too. I wonder why I’ve never heard of it before.

@schmosef : If memory serves, Krita used to be Linux-only and got its Windows and OSX ports after being Kickstarted not too long ago.
That might be it.

I see.

Cool. You can make brushes like that within Painstorm? I’m using Krita atm for concept art. Unfortunately there still is no software that makes me a better character artist.

Yeah, Krita has similar procedural brush system to Paintstorm’s. The default brushes kinda sucks tho.

Wasn’t aware of Krita :-/

I’ve tried both now, and both offer similar dynamics, tons of parameters to configure brushes and make hard work easier.

Hehe, hopefully as new software is invented, it’ll get easier and easier. But if there was a software that allowed you to make a character effortlessly, without requiring to learn, then would it be ‘your’ character at all? :-/

All I’m asking is for the software to paint and shade my character on its own, is that too much to ask??

Awesome software, thanks for sharing.
Really good support too. I got an issue with my really really cheap(like 30 usd) tablet not working and got the solution within one hour on Saturday. Great.
