I want to put a texture onto a circle FBX. How to scale texture?

All…
I am way out of my league here. Not a graphics guy at all.
I have a circle FBX that acts as a reticle for a VR environment. I didn’t like the original texture on the original reticle. So, I went out to the internet and found an image that I’d like to use.

I modified the original image in Photoshop to be in the shape of a circle. However, when I bring in my texture, apply it to my circle FBX only the top left part of the image is showing up on my reticle. So, I think to myself… Ok go back into Photoshop and scale it down. Make the image smaller. That didn’t seem to do any good.

Not knowing much about shaders and what not, i did poke around. I seen an old legacy shader called Shaders/Decal. Thought that might be what I’d want. But, didn’t seem to make any difference.

So, the question becomes, how do I scale my texture so it fits properly onto my circle mesh?

I know… I know… This is probably texture 101. Sorry for such a newbie question.

Thanks!

Easiest way is to open the original texture in photoshop, create a new layer and place the new graphic you want in the new layer, scale to match the original. Check the alpha channel also - probably need to edit that to match the new graphic.
If scaling causes pixelation - consider redrawing or finding a larger image to use to match the original image.

Save and update in Unity, bada bing bada bang bada boom - new reticle.

Hi theANMATOR2b.

I went back and looked for the original. To my luck, the original image is in an image sheet. I know that’s the wrong term for that. I hope understand what I mean by that… There is more than just one image in the entire graphic.

However, I can probably just bring that it, figure out the size of it, then make my other image the same size. I’m assuming that would be what I should be able to do…
