Hi!
As I want to enable my iAd network settings at itunesconnect, I had to answer if my target audience was users under 17.
What exactly does this mean in terms of revenue? What generates more money, if I say yes or no?
Thanks in advance!

If you do 17+ only you will be able to have adverts that under 17s should not see. I don’t think this is a big part of iAds, if at all. But I wouldn’t be surprised if selecting 17+ only means your app gets the same rating, which is has the potential to reduce sales.
Unless your app is rated 17+, I would select that it does target users under 17.
Doesn’t it say “primarily target users under the age of 17” or something to that effect? I’d hit 17+ unless your app is definitely aiming at kids: http://www.macgasm.net/2011/05/11/apple-stops-displaying-iads-apps-children/. If it is aimed strictly at kids then definitely go for under 17s as the ads will be more targeted and therefore have a higher CTR.
Well, thank you for your answer I’m not quite sure, I mean it is a fun game but rather for kids, it’s this game: http://itunes.apple.com/at/app/paper-plane-war/id458375783?mt=8
Btw, this is the Retina Version, the version for iphone 3gs and older should be on the appstore on Monday/Tuesday
I just checked it out. It does target the under 17s, so say so.
Yes, I checked “under 17” but once you have done that you cant undo it until you update your game with a new version.
As I am in Austria, I dont see iAds, so I dont know what they are.
By the way, is it possible to make a, say, notification like “Check out my other games” or “Rate the game” without having to update?
Thanks in advance!
Can i change “under 17” as “no” with the new binary version?
