Well I’ve hit a brick wall!
Hey if you guys have any idea for an indie horror game that you’d like to see and play then tell me because I’ve ran out of ideas for games to work on and make. It most likely will be free depending on the work that will be needed. So if you have an idea for a game you’d like to play ,but your working on something or just don’t want to make it then post it here because I want to.
It doesn’t just have to be a horror indie. It could be something else ,but I’d like it to be an indie. Something that I could finish in 8-12 weeks. Thanks Unity Community!
One of my ideas involves launching a goblin via catapult into a beautiful valley whereupon it falls through the floor because I got bored of the idea before I added collision detection to the floor. I’m sure that could be a goldmine however.
You asked for it. I’m not a car dealer, but paranoid of used car dealers, well duh. Brick walls can be dangerous but they can’t chase you. Bears can chase you or you can chase beers. I don’t know what you expect here, horror as a genre is about ‘uglied’ out truthfully.
Why not make a game of ugly insects and how they live in their environment and if it bombs you can sell it to your local school district. It might not, at least this is a smidgen of originality. Or I vaguely remember repeats on Saturday morning of ‘horror comedies’ when I was very little. I think they featured Abbott Costello. Or…
Not so sure about the going outside stuff, sounds dangerous. I wasn’t joking about the ideas mind, i’ve just realised my web hosting died months ago and now i’m learning about how terrible godaddy are
Make a godaddy simulator with a sense of sarcastic wit and panache
Here’s a simple one: Procedurally create a haunted house, spawn the player and three different monsters in it. The player has to find the exit while avoiding each of the three monsters. Each of the three monsters stalks the player in a different way. There should be hints about where the monsters are, but they should be unclear until they’re in the same room as you, at which point it should be pretty difficult to survive.
That’s a good one, i’m gonna go make it, i’ll send you a fiver when i’ve made my millions in thanks. And again(as in from another thread), not being sarcastic, it has this great sense of rock/paper/scissors about it like the monster balance in l4d. The AI might be a tad tricky but yeah, decent idea there
Yeah, as I was writing it out I was thinking of making it myself. But as I’ve said in other threads, I’ve got stacks of ideas and plenty of them are good… what I can’t do is make them all. I wouldn’t have posted it if I wanted people not to have a crack at it.
Also, even if you and the OP and I and a bunch of other people all made it starting from that short description, we’d all end up with pretty different games. Even as I was writing it I had 3 different but pretty clear visions of how it could turn out. That’s one each and we’re still all making a “unique” game.
After sinking months into what turned out to be bad ideas i know this well. I’m still compiling my ideas page, i just felt inspired for some reason and also theres a ton of junk I made in Unity just hanging around in a sprawling mess of subfolders, i should do a thread or something
Hey I’ll work on that. It sounds like a neat little project. I’m thinking about something that crawls through vents, a ghoul/zombie like creature that stalks you stealthily through the hallways, and a blind four legged creature that can only hear you.
