idle and running animation

i have both an idle and running animation for my character and they seem to be triggering fine. the only thing is that when i stop running the idle animation is always facing forward. my goal is when the running animation stops, wherever the player was running/facing last is what way the idle is facing. how could i do this?

Are you using root motion animation?

i wasn’t but i set it to root motion and it didn’t change anything.

Is your character animated with root motion?
