Hi all,
Now I know IE 11 isn’t a supported browser, but I have a client that is labeling it a must.
I updated to Unity 5.4 (as part of a routine upgrade) to find IE 11 would crash (even with a default empty project).
First thing I did was revert back to 5.3.6 and happily found my project would work as normal (albeit a bit slow).
However, come this morning, IE 11 doesn’t seem to work at all using 5.3.6 (I haven’t changed a single line / setting) and will throw out an “out of memory” warning even with an empty default project. I highly doubt it, but does Unity have some sort of remote settings that get pulled when a WebGL build is built? It seems really strange that it’s been working for months in 5.3.6 (my main reason for not updating Unity) only to break all of a sudden.
I’ve tried build a default empty project using IE 11 (which also used to work, again a bit slow) but this also seems to have bit the bullet. Why would an empty project work a while a go and then all of sudden stop? ![]()
Side note: Strangely, using 5.3.6 (empty project) with Edge would also cause Edge to lock up and throw out of memory errors (usually just after trying to optimize Math.fround), which I read somewhere IE and Edge have trouble with.
