if I order iphone basic do I get access to Unity 3 beta ?

Also as for Unity Pro vs. basic - If I go pro does the publishing change for standalone apps like in Mac and Windows? I don’t mean in regards to not having a splash screen.

I mean in regards to packaging a game with an installer. Or in regards to securing a game for resale and protection against pirating?

if you order iphone basic you will get the beta yes (given you get it early enough to be processed before the release happens ;))

And yes if you buy unity pro + iphone pro addon then you don’t have the splash anymore. You though can not buy iphone pro without unity pro ownership or ordering at the same time.

and unity does not provide any installer bundling, you need (can one should say) do that yourself through whatever technology you want to use.

as for protecting: thats up to you what you do and don’t do, nothing present nor enforced.

I just bought iPhone Pro but got a download link for 1.7. Where is everyone getting their latest beta versions?

preorder sendout is handled manually and takes 1-2 work days.
the automatic mailer only mails you the link to the current public one.

but if you look at the license you will see its a u3 one (starts with U3 ;))

Obviously the license is for 3. Otherwise what the hell did I just shell out $2k for? :shock:

yeah if you bought after march 2010 you preordered u3, which gets you the same license for the current unity (2.x / iphone 1.x) as well as the u3 version once around (+ release candidate as soon as you are sent it unless the release happens this week in which case you likely don’t get the Release Candidate access anymore to save you the 480mb download just for a day potentially ^^)
