Our game development contractor is using Unity 3D to make our game, and they have a Unity Pro license.
Do we also have to buy a Unity Pro license to distribute and sell the game?
Or is it ok for us to not have a license because the actual game was made with a licensed copy of Unity?
Thank you!

It doesn't matter, because you can still distribute and sell games made with Unity Free.

If you (he) uses Pro features, then I think you would. Like if there are RenderTextures, or Asset Bundles, or if you changed/removed the Unity splash.
