Ignore Filesystem Permissions Changes

Hi!

Looks like from Linux or Mac, UVC will mark permissions as dirty for any file that is changed for the first time on that terminal, with an annoying legend declaring that is in fact “identical”:

So it floods with unnecessary changes all the time, and clutters changesets that otherwise would be pretty clean. We’d like to avoid this.

I found this topic from 7 years ago (https://forum.plasticscm.com/topic/20280-ignore-changes-in-filesystem-permissions/) in which this is already mentioned, and here I am praying that this has been improved, with an option to ignore these changes.

I am in luck by any chances?

Silence is not a good omen :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I’m afraid there haven’t been recent changes in this behavior. There is a task to add a new setting to “Ignore file system permissions changes” but it was not yet planned. Let me share your feedback with the product team.

Astonishing that has not been attended yet, given how common is the scenario :eyes:
