I'm looking for the liaison program between music creation and Unity?

I currently work at a Media school and don’t know much about music creation myself. I am trying to get the music team involved in our game project and they want to know what’s the best liaison program to use between music creation and Unity?

Thanks,
jimmy

Well i cant think of any real music software that would liase directly with Unity but in the Asset Store there’s Visualizer studio, which i own and it’s pretty excellent for audio analysis, and will take mic inputs too

With that and at least an interested few people willing to experiment with their fave music progs (like ableton) and a sound editor you could probably get some great stuff going, you might want to split songs by tracks and have visualiser run analysis on each and use the data produced for whatever you feel is appropriate, there are some samples with the asset to get you started but you can use its interface to do all sorts of things, have fun

For kicks, here’s a sorta weird game demo i did thats synchronised to the music in some parts using the above asset

Its not as good as it could be i suppose, i was extremely pressed for time, you could get some pretty great information with fine tuning

Thanks for the info. I teach game art students that want to add their own sounds too.

Nice example, this looks like a good start for us as well…

Cheers,
jimmy
