With iOS supporting 5 different resolutions, what’s the standard approach towards sizes of in-game image assets? For example, if I have one image I want to be 256x256 on the iPad 1, then do I also need:
512x512 (iPad Retina)
284x214 (iPhone 5)
240x214 (iPhone Retina)
120x107 (iPhone)
Needing 5 different resolutions per image sounds like it would bloat the size of the final game as well as be significantly more expensive to hire someone to make art for, but it would be the highest quality. What’s the standard way to approach this?
