Import from lightwave 11 to Unity

Hi,

I use Lightwave 11 to generate FBX 3D model file to import in unity. In LW11 all texture are ok, but when i import the FBX in unity, some textures is missing.

Anyone have a solution for me ???

Thx
Nori

Do you export directly from Modeler, or are you using Layout’s exporter? As a general rule of thumb, I would recommend not using the Modeler one, it is outdated. Send the model to Layout and export from there. Alternatively use the Unity Editor script that comes with LightWave to let Unity convert LWS files into FBX.

Also are the textures located inside the FBX on export or have you placed them inside of your Unity Asset folder?

I export from LW layout.
The texture is embedded in the FBX.

Wich script in Unity Editor ???

I think i do something wrong with the new script because it does not work here.
I have the right folders like LW want it and i can choose the script in Unity but nothing happens then.
Sadly Lightwave´s new doc is not helping me here.

Can someone tell me how to do it right with the new script, please.

Don’t use Lightwave when you have to implement into other programs.

Awesome, I was searching for a good reason to upgrade my Lightwave 9.6… I missed 10 but 11 looks like it’ll work pretty well now.

@MentalFish: Did you work with Newtek to incorporate Keystone?

I export directly from Modeler with LW11 and everything works fine including textures and UV settings into Unity 3D version 3.5 and v4
